British Geological Survey
Evidence scientists could act on.

The starting point.
With a newly appointed Executive Director, BGS wanted evidence about employee experience and culture to inform its strategic plans. Approximately 650 colleagues across several sites were invited to take part.
Research grounded in context.
Launch communications and FAQs helped explain the survey and encourage participation. More than 65% responded in the first two days, rising to 86% over the two-week survey period.
Making the evidence useful.
We produced reporting for key stakeholders and facilitated department-level feedback discussions. Follow-on coaching helped managers understand the data in their own context and work towards departmental action plans.
A clearer way forward.
The combination of strong participation and facilitated conversations created ownership of the results. BGS’s HR feedback specifically credits these sessions with generating interest in the data and motivation for team action planning.
These sessions triggered real interest in the data and helped drive motivation for team action planning.
